alpitronic Americas LLC is seeking a Packaging Engineer to develop and qualify packaging for raw materials and intercompany shipments. You will define requirements, assess supplier documentation, and lead trials to ensure cost, quality, and sustainability targets are met.

You will collaborate with procurement, quality, SCM, logistics and production teams, oversee CAPA activities, and drive improvements in packaging materials, equipment, and processes.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Several years of packaging engineering experience in manufacturing, FMCG, pharma, or industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, converting processes, and packaging equipment.
• Familiarity with quality systems, testing standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with CAD tools, packaging testing equipment, and ERP systems.
• Experience working directly with external packaging suppliers.
• Knowledge of sustainability frameworks and eco design principles.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships; languages English and Italian.

The Packaging Engineer is responsible for developing, qualifying, and managing all raw material packaging sourced from external suppliers and packaging for intercompany shipments. This role ensures that packaging materials meet technical specifications, quality standards, sustainability goals, operational and legal requirements. The engineer collaborates closely with suppliers, procurement, quality, SCM, logistics and production teams to optimize packaging performance, cost, and reliability.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, converting processes, and packaging equipment
• Familiarity with quality systems, testing standards, and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency with CAD tools, packaging testing equipment, and ERP systems
• Experience working directly with external packaging suppliers
• Knowledge of sustainability frameworks and eco design principles
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts, assertively push projects forward, and build constructive relationships
• Language skills: fluent in English and Italian, knowledge of German is advantageous
