You will lead the initial portfolio of .NET applications, set technical direction, and help establish a broader .NET capability within the team. The role supports either permanent or freelance collaboration, with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

We are seeking a Senior .NET Developer / Technical Lead with German language skills to join a specialized team in the financial and accounting software domain, working on a portfolio of desktop applications that integrate third‑party financial data into a complex accounting ecosystem. These applications convert data such as bank statements, e‑commerce invoices, and payment exports into ready‑to‑post accounting entries, support corrections to accounting data, and enable payroll data exports in different formats.

You will be the first .NET expert joining this business area, which gives you the opportunity to shape how the .NET landscape develops from the very beginning. You will initially take responsibility for a defined portfolio of financial and accounting applications, while helping us build the technical expertise required to take over additional .NET applications in the future. Our goal is to grow this area around strong .NET expertise, following a similar approach to the one we have already established for Java applications. This means your contribution will go beyond individual application development: you will help create the technical foundation for a growing portfolio and, over time, for a broader .NET team. What You'll Be Doing

• Develop and maintain high‑quality desktop applications using C#, .NET, and WPF, with a strong focus on stability, maintainability, and reliability.
• Help establish the technical standards and foundations for the growing .NET application portfolio, supporting the future onboarding of additional applications.
• Work on applications that process and transform financial and accounting data from external sources such as banks, e‑commerce platforms, payment providers, and payroll systems.
• Design and integrate technical components to enable smooth communication and data exchange between different systems and applications.
• Work with structured data formats such as XML and JSON as part of application integrations and data‑processing workflows.
• Use PowerShell for scripting and automation tasks where appropriate.
• Implement asynchronous programming using async/await to support responsive and performant desktop applications.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and external services to support application functionality and system interoperability.
• Write well‑structured, efficient, and testable code, applying unit testing practices to ensure application quality and stability.
• Analyze technical issues, troubleshoot complex application behavior, and propose sustainable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and clients to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Contribute to technical discussions and decision‑making, perform code reviews, and support knowledge sharing within the development team.
• Contribute to technical documentation, including system specifications, development guidelines, and relevant user documentation.
• Work closely with Agile teams to deliver incremental improvements and high‑quality software.

What You'll Bring Along

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of software development experience, with a strong focus on C# and .NET.
• Strong hands‑on experience with WPF and desktop application development.
• Experience working with PowerShell for scripting and automation tasks.
• Good understanding of structured data formats such as XML and JSON.
• Good understanding of both .NET Framework and modern .NET / .NET Core environments.
• Experience with asynchronous programming using async/await and building responsive desktop applications.

• Experience writing testable code and applying unit testing practices to ensure application quality and stability.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on clean, maintainable, and reliable code.
