xFarm Technologies in Milano, Lombardy, Italy, seeks a Mid/Senior Mobile App Developer to own the mobile platform within our Smart Farming ecosystem. You will build and evolve apps using Flutter and Dart, align architectural decisions with the team, and bridge farm machinery with our digital platform through native plugins and platform channels.

Competenze

• 6+ years of professional mobile development.

Our mission at xFarm Technologies is to drive the digital transformation in Agriculture by improving the lives of millions of farmers, acting for the increase of environmental, economic and social sustainability of the sector. We do this by developing digital tools and consulting projects, providing a Smart Farming digital ecosystem for all the actors of the agri-food supply chain, consisting of apps, sensors, software integrations and advanced analytics tools. Today, xFarm products are already used by more than 600 thousand farms on more than five million hectares, in Europe and South America.

We’re looking for a Mid/Senior Mobile App Developer to own and evolve the mobile platform at the centre of this ecosystem. You will work closely with the Tech Area Owner and the mobile team, building and evolving the apps that connect hundreds of thousands of farmers to our Smart Farming ecosystem.

The codebase

a Melos-managed monorepo with 60+ packages, MobX for reactive state management, Explicit Architecture (DDD, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal) for strict layer separation, and a custom design system based on Material 3.

Your Mission

• Mobile App Development — Develop and maintain mobile applications using modern Flutter (3.35+) and Dart, with clean code following Explicit Architecture that keeps domain logic isolated from frameworks and I/O.
• Platform Ownership — Own the full feature lifecycle from design to release. Drive architectural decisions, shape the mobile roadmap alongside the Tech Area Owner, and contribute to cross-team chapter meetings where the mobile team shares knowledge, aligns on patterns and share ideas across tribes.
• Machinery, In-Cab & Telemetry — Work with Bluetooth connectivity to tractor dongles and GNSS receivers, in-cab experiences for real-time equipment data, and MQTT-based telemetry pipelines. You’ll bridge physical farm machinery with our digital platform through native plugins and platform channels.
• Design System & UI — Contribute to and evolve our custom design system based on Material 3, building consistent, accessible and responsive interfaces across the app’s many feature areas.
• API Integration — Integrate with internal and external RESTful APIs and third-party libraries to deliver complete and robust features.
• Code Review — As soon as you get confidence with the codebase you will participate actively in code reviews helping us maintaining standard and best practices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration — Work with the Tech Area Owner, Product Area Owner, designers, backend developers and QA to define requirements and deliver.
• Agile Development — Contribute to Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, grooming, demos and retrospectives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional mobile development (iOS and/or Android)
• 3+ years working with Flutter and Dart
• Solid understanding of architecture patterns (DDD, Hexagonal, Clean Architecture)
• Experience building and maintaining design systems
• Experience with RESTful API integration and asynchronous programming
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and mobile release processes
• Strong code review practice and attention to code quality
• Fluency in Italian and English; other languages are a plus.

Strong Plus

• Experience with Bluetooth connectivity (BLE and/or SPP) and native platform channels
• Familiarity with IoT protocols, telemetry pipelines (MQTT), or agricultural machinery integration
• Experience with Melos-managed monorepos at scale
• Experience with large codebases (50+ packages)

Code Quality First — Architecture reviews, strict layering rules, and thorough code reviews are embedded in our workflow and not optional.

AI-Augmented Development — We use Claude Code (Max plan) with a purpose-built harness tuned to our mobile codebase — skills, wiki, architecture checks — to move faster without cutting corners.

Mobile Chapter — Regular chapter meetings for cross-squad alignment, pattern sharing, and knowledge cross-pollination across the mobile team.

Compensation

RAL: €40.000 - €45.000 (commensurate with experience)
