Job summary

NTT DATA Europe & Latam is seeking an experienced Senior Java & Kafka Engineer to join a team building modern, cloud-based, data-driven applications and real-time streaming solutions. You will work at the intersection of backend software engineering and data streaming, focusing on substantial Java business logic and Kafka-based architectures in AWS.

The role emphasizes event-driven systems, real-time data processing, and cloud-native deployments on AWS, with familiarity with Confluent Kafka

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on Java development and Kafka experience.
• Strong Java development skills with modern Java.
• Production experience with Apache Kafka (Confluent Kafka a plus).
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
• Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services.
• Build event-driven and real-time data streaming architectures using Apache Kafka.
• Develop Kafka producers, consumers, and integration components.
• Design scalable communication patterns between distributed systems.
• Build cloud-native solutions and deploy on AWS environments.
• Implement business logic around asynchronous events and streaming data.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, maintainable, and production-ready.
• Troubleshoot issues across distributed environments.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, DevOps/cloud engineers, and stakeholders.
• Apply software engineering best practices, including automated testing, code reviews, observability, and CI/CD.
