Job summary

FairPlay Engineering seeks a Senior Secondary Design Engineer to own the detailed secondary engineering for HV substations up to 500kV, from concept through execution, delivering protection, control, and communication systems for critical energy infrastructure. You will lead protection philosophies, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and calculations, with IEC 61850 experience and Battery sizing knowledge.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in secondary engineering for HV substations.
Experience in protection and control design, panel design, wiring, and schematics.
Knowledge of protection relays, telecom systems, and LAN networks.
Experience with transmission infrastructure engineering.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
IEC 61850 experience.
Battery sizing knowledge.
Medium-voltage project experience.
ELCAD-AUCOPLAN experience.

Responsibilities

Leading detailed secondary engineering for HV substations up to 400kV.
Developing protection philosophies, functional specifications, and control narratives.
Designing protection and control schemes, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
Performing AC and DC calculations, CT and VT sizing, cable sizing, and relay selection.
Engineering auxiliary power systems and substation communication networks.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complete, high-quality engineering packages.
