Job summary

AECOM Italy seeks a Senior Hydrogeologist to join our team in Milan to work on groundwater assessments, remediation strategy implementation, design and monitoring at large industrial sites and new developments.

Our ideal candidate has a strong technical background in hydrogeology, groundwater engineering, contaminated site assessment and modelling, with Italian and English proficiency and at least five years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Five or more years of relevant professional experience, ideally in a multinational company.
Fluency in Italian and English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience conducting fieldwork and site-based activities.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
Willingness to travel nationally to site visits and project activities.
Licensed to drive a vehicle in ITA (essential).
Strong report-writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Apply technical knowledge of site investigation and remediation to resolve complex environmental problems.
Design, plan, implement, supervise, and interpret hydrogeological investigations (well installations, groundwater level surveys, sampling).
Develop hydrogeological conceptual models and 3D geological models using digital tools.
Develop numerical groundwater models using MODFLOW, FEFLOW and other software.
Collaborate with environmental scientists and risk assessors in remediation plan procedures.
Prepare proposals/workplans and manage project budgets, schedules, health and safety, and staffing.
Provide hydrogeological input to environmental assessments for developments.
Mentor junior staff and travel as required.
