Responsibilities

• Supportare la pianificazione e l'implementazione di indagini idrogeologiche.
• Supportare la raccolta, analisi e interpretazione di dati idrogeologici e ambientali.
• Contribuire allo sviluppo di modelli concettuali idrogeologici e interpretazioni geologiche.
• Supportare modellazione idrogeologica e processamento dati.
• Preparare report tecnici, presentazioni e documentazione di progetto.
• Partecipare a progetti di indagine e bonifica di siti contaminati.
• Lavorare con team multidisciplinari: scienziati ambientali e ingegneri.
• Supportare valutazioni ambientali per progetti vari.
• Effettuare ispezioni sul campo e rilievi.
• Mantenere registri accurati delle attività e dati di progetto.

Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking a Junior Hydrogeologist to join our team of Hydrogeologists and Environmental Engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to develop technical expertise in hydrogeological assessments, groundwater monitoring, contaminated site investigation and remediation, and groundwater engineering projects across a variety of industrial and development sites.

Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, motivated, and team-oriented professional with a strong academic background in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline, and a genuine interest in developing a career in groundwater and environmental consulting.

In this role, you will work alongside experienced Hydrogeologists, Environmental Engineers, Hydrogeological Modelers, and Project Managers, supporting activities such as:

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the planning and implementation of hydrogeological investigations, including groundwater monitoring, sampling campaigns, well installations, and aquifer testing.
• Assisting with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of hydrogeological and environmental data.
• Contributing to the development of hydrogeological conceptual models and geological interpretations using digital tools and software packages.
• Supporting groundwater modelling and data processing activities under the guidance of senior specialists.
• Assisting in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.
• Participating in contaminated site assessment and remediation projects and supporting the implementation of remediation strategies.
• Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental scientists, engineers, and risk assessors.
• Supporting environmental and hydrogeological assessments for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure developments.
• Conducting site visits and fieldwork activities as required.
• Maintaining accurate records of site activities and project data.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities under the supervision of senior team members.
• Demonstrating a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

• A degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering.
• Up to 2 years of relevant experience in hydrogeology, environmental consulting, or a related field.
• Fluency in both Italian and English.
• Interest in groundwater investigations, contaminated land assessment, and environmental remediation.
• Some fieldwork experience or willingness to undertake field-based activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Motivation, initiative, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel nationally to support project requirements.
• Strong personal initiative, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
• Full driving licence valid in Italy (essential).
