Job summary

22DOGS, Milan-based studio, is seeking a Senior FX Artist (Freelance) to own the simulation pipeline for a flagship project. You will create photorealistic and stylized FX that integrate into live-action plates or CG environments, from fire and smoke to destruction and fluids, collaborating with art directors and lighting leads.

This remote-friendly role requires expert Houdini/Maya skills, strong VFX pipeline knowledge, and the ability to work independently within a Europe-wide freelance team.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as an FX Artist in commercials, film, or TV
• Excellent Houdini, Maya, or other FX software skills
• Proven ability to create high-quality simulations (fluid, fire, smoke, destruction, or other FX)
• Strong understanding of VFX pipelines and compositing principles
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a remote team
• Excellent English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the simulation pipeline for the upcoming flagship project
• Create complex, photorealistic and stylized visual effects that integrate into live-action plates or fully CG environments
• Collaborate with art directors, lighting leads, and compositing supervisors to translate briefs into visual spectacles
