Jobtailor is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain firmware for GNSS receiver products in Italy. You will work on C/C++ software, embedded Linux services, networking, and hardware interfaces across multiple targets.

You'll modernize legacy code, optimize performance, and collaborate across international teams while contributing to CI/CD, automated testing, and engineering best practices.

Competenze

Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or software engineering.
5+ years of experience in embedded software or firmware development.
Strong C/C++ and CMake expertise, including modern C++ standards.
Experience with embedded Linux, system APIs, networking, multithreading, kernel interaction, RTOS.
Python scripting for automation and testing.
GNSS experience (RTK, PPP, CSSR) is highly desirable.
Intermediate or higher English proficiency; ability to work in international environments.

Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD workflows, documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering practices

Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
5+ years of experience in embedded software or firmware development
Strong C/C++ and CMake expertise, including modern C++ standards
Solid experience with embedded Linux, system APIs, networking, multithreading, kernel interaction, and real-time operating systems
Experience with hardware/software integration, debugging, performance optimization, software architecture, and legacy code modernization
Knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, and testing
GNSS experience, including RTK, PPP, or CSSR, is highly desirable
Intermediate or higher English proficiency
Ability to work in international engineering environments
