Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. in Reggio-Emilia, Italy, seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Reggio-Emilia based Engineering team within the Plasma Solutions business unit.

The group is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and characterization of complex semiconductor systems, driving R&D, New Product Introduction, and Sustaining Engineering. You will provide technical leadership across microwave generation, electronic control, mechanical subsystems, and data processing,

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or related experience with 10+ years.
• 2+ years of engineering management or technical leadership experience.
• Strong organizational leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent verbal and written communications in English.
• Understanding of the product development process.
• Familiarity with high-powered microwave generators and systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead a technical team to deliver to product specifications, systematic design, PCB design, documentation, and test plan development.
• Foster a culture of innovation with data-driven problem-solving techniques.
• Collaborate with Plasma Solutions engineering group (US-based) on design of new and legacy products.
• Work with Product Marketing, PMO, and other cross-functional groups to meet customer expectations.
• Establish and manage budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
• Communicate technical information effectively in design reviews, failure analyses, and technical reports.
