Job summary

Brainfield Italia seeks a Senior Microfabrication Engineer to join the Manufacturing & Operations team at their San Martino di Lupari (Padua) plant in Italy. You will lead hands-on experiments, fabricate micro-scale parts and test vehicles, and collaborate with cross-functional groups to deliver robust results.

You will work with laser writing, etching, CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and maintain lab tools while ensuring data-driven repeatability and high-quality data output.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Materials Eng or related disciplines.
• 2-5 years hands-on in lab, cleanroom, pilot line or precision-manufacturing workshop.
• Real experience in at least one of: laser micromachining, wet/chemical etching, precision machining/CNC, additive manufacturing.
• Basic CAD (SolidWorks or similar) and CAM (Alphacam or similar).
• Fluent in English; Italian is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run experiments, make parts, take measurements and bring back data with the microfabrication engineer.
• 3D printing and precision machining for fixtures, jigs and test vehicles.
• Deliver microfabrication works including laser writing, scribing, ablation and etching for micro-scale parts.
• Execute experiments, prepare samples, run matrices, record results with quantitative outputs.
• Maintain tools with routine qualifications, cleaning and maintenance of lasers, benches, printers and machines.
• Ensure repeatability and traceability through parameter sheets and procedures.
• Collaborate with electrochemistry, mechanical design and Technical Office.

On behalf of one of our clients, a deep-tech company building electrochemical deposition equipment (ECD) and processes for semiconductor manufactoring, we are seeking a Senior Microfabrication Engineer to join the Manufacturing & Operations team at their main plant in San Martino di Lupari (Padua), Italy.

Role Overview

You will be in charge to run experiments, make the parts, take the measurements and bring back the data, working alongside the Microfabrication Engineer who owns the process architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D printing and precision machining for the fixtures, jigs, test vehicles and system partes the lab needs
• Delivering the microfabrication works, including laser writing, scribing and ablation, wet and chemical etching, producing the micro-scale parts and test vehicles the development programme needs
• Performing the experiments, preparing the samples, running the matrix as it was designed, recording everything, and reporting the results with quantitative outputs
• Keeping the tools running with routine qualifications, cleaning, consumables and maintenance discipline on lasers, wet benches, printers and machines
• Keeping track of the work done by parameters sheets, records and procedures to ensure the highest level of repeatability and reproducibility
• Working continuously with the electrochemistry group, mechanical design, and the Technical Office

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Materials Engineering or related disciplines
