Exyte GmbH in Italy seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead process engineering for pharmaceutical and life sciences facilities, from concept through commissioning and qualification. You will act as a technical expert, drive innovative process solutions, and ensure GMP compliance.

You will develop PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, mass balances, and technical specifications; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage vendor evaluations and bid assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Several years of process engineering experience in pharma/biotech/life sciences.

Responsabilités

• Lead process design and engineering of pharma facilities per GMP and industry standards.

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be responsible for leading process engineering activities across all project phases, from conceptual design through commissioning and qualification. Acting as a technical expert, you will drive innovative process solutions, ensure compliance with GMP requirements, and support multidisciplinary project teams in delivering high-quality, sustainable, and efficient facilities.

• Lead the process design and engineering of pharmaceutical and life sciences facilities in compliance with GMP regulations and industry standards.


• Develop and review process deliverables including process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, process calculations, mass balances, and technical specifications.


• Coordinate process engineering activities with multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical leadership throughout project execution.


• Manage technical evaluations, vendor selection processes, and bid assessments for process equipment and systems.


• Conduct process risk assessments, design reviews, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.


• Support installation, commissioning, qualification, and start-up activities while resolving complex technical challenges.


• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous development of engineering standards, methodologies, and best practices.

Show your expertise

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a comparable discipline.


• Several years of experience in process engineering within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry.


• In-depth knowledge of cGMP requirements, pharmaceutical regulations, and process engineering principles.


• Strong expertise in process design documentation, process calculations, and engineering software tools.


• Proven experience managing technical interfaces with clients, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.


• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills within international project environments.


• Fluent in English; additional European languages such as German, French, or Italian are considered advantageous.

The salary range for this position is between € 42´800 and € 54`900 gross per year (full-time). The exact salary will be determined within this range based on objective and transparent criteria, including role scope, qualifications, and relevant professional experience.
