Planetek Italia, Bari-based leader in geoinformatics, seeks a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to design and operate robust DevOps and security-focused platforms. You will partner with developers and system engineers to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions across on-prem and cloud infrastructure.

You will implement CI/CD, manage GitLab/Azure DevOps, and apply GitOps with Argo CD, while ensuring security controls and observability across the delivery pipeline.

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE or similar roles.

Your Responsibilities As senior Devsecops Engineer

You will contribute to the design, implementation, operation and continuous improvement of our DevOps and DevSecOps platforms and processes, supporting development teams throughout the software lifecycle.

You will:

• Design, implement, maintain and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, supporting the complete software lifecycle from source code to production deployment.
• Manage and administer GitLab and Azure DevOps environments, including repositories, pipelines, runners/agents and integrations with external tools.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containerised environments.
• Manage and optimise Docker images and container-based workloads.
• Implement and maintain GitOps-based Continuous Delivery processes, with particular focus on Argo CD.
• Contribute to the integration of security controls throughout the software delivery lifecycle according to DevSecOps principles, including SAST, DAST, dependency and vulnerability scanning.
• Configure and integrate code quality and security analysis platforms such as SonarQube within CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage application secrets, credentials and sensitive configurations using solutions such as HashiCorp Vault.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Manage, maintain and troubleshoot on‑premises infrastructure, including Linux servers, virtual machines, networking components and storage.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting solutions, using technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana and centralised logging platforms.
• Monitor infrastructure and application health to improve the availability and reliability of services.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines and applications, contributing to root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Support development teams in adopting DevOps and DevSecOps best practices and improving development and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, technical managers, customers and external project partners to address infrastructure and integration challenges.
• Contribute to the definition and evolution of Planetek Italia’s DevOps practices and technology stack.
• Share knowledge and good practices with colleagues and contribute to the technical growth of the team. You will progressively take greater responsibility for the platforms and services you work on.

As your knowledge of Planetek Italia’s systems, projects and technology landscape develops, you will take increasing ownership of the platforms and services under your responsibility, contributing to their technical evolution and long‑term reliability.

YOUR BACKGROUND

You have gained at least 5 years of professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or similar roles, with hands-on responsibility for production or business‑critical environments.

This is a Senior position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working autonomously on their areas of expertise, can analyse technical problems, contribute to technical decisions and take responsibility for delivering reliable and maintainable solutions.

You have solid experience in some of the following areas, with the ability and willingness to further develop your expertise across the others:

• Kubernetes administration and containerised environments;
• Docker and containerised environments;
• design and management of complex CI/CD pipelines;
• GitLab CI/CD and/or Azure DevOps;
• GitOps methodologies and tools such as Argo CD;
• DevSecOps principles and integration of security controls into CI/CD processes;
• Linux system administration;
• on‑premises and virtualised infrastructures;
• Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform;
• configuration management and automation tools, preferably Ansible;
• monitoring and observability solutions such as Prometheus and Grafana;
• networking fundamentals and troubleshooting;
• Bash and/or Python scripting.

Experience with HashiCorp Vault, SonarQube, Helm, Elastic Stack, cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, highly available Kubernetes environments, backup and disaster recovery strategies, or SRE practices will be considered an advantage.

A BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field may be helpful, but we are also open to candidates who have developed equivalent expertise through their professional experience.

We do not expect you to have worked with every single technology in our stack. What matters is having solid foundations in DevOps and infrastructure engineering, understanding the principles behind the technologies you use, approaching technical problems methodically, and continuing to develop your expertise in a complex technological environment.

You are also comfortable working with people from different technical areas, communicating complex topics clearly and contributing to multidisciplinary teams.

What We Offer

• a base salary range of €40.000 - €45.000 gross per year for this role.
