Job summary

European Energy Italy in Milan seeks a Senior Development Engineer to lead the technical development of utility-scale solar PV, onshore wind and BESS projects in Italy. You will manage grid connections, permitting processes, and early project structuring to drive FID readiness.

The role combines technical depth with commercial awareness, requiring strong coordination with EPC, engineering consultants, and regulators.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical, Energy or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 5 years' experience in the engineering and development of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Italy.
• Hands-on experience managing grid connection requests with Terna and DSOs, with knowledge of Italian connection rules (ARERA TICA, Terna Grid Code).
• Proficiency in QGIS, Google Earth and AutoCAD, as well as Microsoft Office and project tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead grid connection requests with Terna and DSOs from application to final approval.
• Assess hybridization opportunities across solar PV, wind and BESS, at plant and connection-point level.
• Coordinate site investigations, engineering studies and permitting procedures (PAS, Autorizzazione Unica, PAUR, VIA).
• Coordinate with Project Development, EPC, consultants, suppliers and advisers.
