Job summary

European Energy Italy, based in Milan, seeks a Senior Development Engineer to lead technical development for utility-scale solar PV, wind and battery storage. You will drive grid connection strategies with Terna and DSOs, optimize hybrid projects, and ensure regulatory compliance across the Italian framework.

You will collaborate with EPC, commercial teams and external advisers, while growing within a fast‑growing international company. Fluent Italian and English are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical, Energy or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years' experience in the engineering and development of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Italy.
• Proven track record taking solar PV, wind and/or BESS projects through development to ready-to-build status or FID.
• Hands-on experience managing grid connection requests with Terna and DSOs, with solid knowledge of Italian connection rules (ARERA TICA, Terna Grid Code, CEI 0-16).
• Good understanding of the Italian regulatory and permitting framework (ARERA, MASE, GSE; PAS, Autorizzazione Unica, PAUR, VIA).
• Proficiency in QGIS, Google Earth and AutoCAD, as well as Microsoft Office and project tracking tools.
• Fluent Italian and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead grid connection requests with Terna and DSOs from application to final approvals.
• Evaluate Terna's data and identify valuable connection points for new projects.
• Coordinate Open Season participation and optimize grid position.
• Ensure technical coherence across solar PV, wind and BESS across shared connection points.
