Job summary

Munich Re Italy is seeking an experienced compliance professional to lead the local Compliance Function for the Italian branches of Munich Reinsurance Company and Great Lakes Insurance SE in Milan. The role oversees the Group Compliance Management System implementation, manages investigations and whistleblowing, and advises management on regulatory matters.

You will support data protection initiatives and collaborate across local, regional and group functions in a matrix environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in law; admission to practice law in Italy preferred.
• At least five years of compliance and/or legal experience, preferably in insurance or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of Italian and European regulatory environments and CMS.
• Experience in compliance advisory, monitoring, investigations or whistleblowing; data protection knowledge is a plus.
• Fluent in Italian and English; strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously enhance the Group Compliance Management System for the Italian operations.
• Manage whistleblowing reports, compliance cases and investigations with transparent reporting.
• Advise local management and business functions, providing guidance and challenge.
• Support regional and Group-wide compliance initiatives and drive alignment of the framework.
• Act as local Data Protection Expert and coordinate with Group Data Protection function.
• Advise on selected regulatory and commercial legal matters affecting Italian operations.
• Draft, review and negotiate selected agreements coordinating with Group Legal and external counsel.
