Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets in Milan seeks a Senior Property & Engineering Underwriter to lead profitable growth in Italy, reporting to the Head of P&E Italy. Based in Milan, this full-time role drives underwriting excellence, strengthens broker and client relationships, and collaborates with colleagues across our international network.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years P&E underwriting experience, deep knowledge of the Italian market, and an entrepreneurial mindset to tailor solutions

Competenze

• Minimum 8 years of Property & Engineering underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Italian insurance market including brokers and distribution partners.
• Proven track record of originating, underwriting and growing profitable P&E business.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to tailor solutions for complex client needs.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in Italian and English; international experience preferred.
• University degree and/or professional qualification; leadership and collaboration capabilities.

• Grow Munich Re Specialty's P&E business in Italy and strengthen market presence.
• Execute underwriting strategies aligned with regional and global objectives.
• Identify, develop and secure profitable opportunities while expanding broker and client relationships.
• Underwrite P&E risks and manage portfolio profitability and data quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across claims, legal, compliance and finance.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform underwriting decisions.
• Travel as required to meet clients and broker partners.
