Job summary

Bolton Group is seeking a Senior Business Controller to join the Finance team in the Food Business Unit, based in Milan, Italy. You will support budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to enable strategic decision-making across the business unit.

You will report to the Finance Senior Manager and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain. The role requires 4–5 years in Controlling, strong Excel skills, and willingness to travel weekly across Italy.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or related field.
• 4–5 years of experience in Controlling or similar finance roles.
• Strong Excel skills; familiarity with SAP or ERP systems is a plus.
• Willingness to travel frequently across Italy.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of Budget and Forecast processes for your perimeter.
• Perform monthly closing activities and ensure accurate reporting of financial results.
• Analyze business performance versus budget and prior year, identifying key drivers and variances.
• Prepare clear and insightful financial reporting to support management decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Trade) to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of controlling tools, processes, and reporting systems.

We are looking for a Senior Business Controller to join our Finance team in within the Food Business Unit based in Milan, Italy.

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the Business Controlling team, contributing to financial planning, performance monitoring, and decision support for the Business Unit.

How your agenda looks like:

• Support the preparation of Budget and Forecast processes for your perimeter;
• Perform monthly closing activities and ensure accurate reporting of financial results;
• Analyze business performance versus budget and prior year, identifying key drivers and variances;
• Prepare clear and insightful financial reporting to support management decision-making;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Trade) to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data;
• Contribute to continuous improvement of controlling tools, processes, and reporting systems.

Your team:

You will report directly to our Finance Senior Manager.

What makes you a great fit:

• Education: Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or related field
• Experience: at least 4/5 years of experience in Controlling or similar finance roles
• Technical skills: Strong knowledge of Excel; familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
• Required availability for frequent weekly travel across the Italian territory
