Job summary

RINA is recruiting a Senior Building HVAC Engineer for its Genoa office in the Civil Engineering Division. The role focuses on HVAC system design within Building MEP, including DHW and drainage networks, with emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building engineering.
• Strong ability to design and develop HVAC systems within MEP frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design Development: develop HVAC systems within Building MEP frameworks and define main ductwork layouts and DHW design.
• System Sizing & Selection: perform load calculations and size HVAC equipment to meet comfort and efficiency targets.
• Technology & Innovation: stay updated on HVAC tech, smart controls, high-efficiency equipment, and renewables.
• Technical Documentation: prepare HVAC and plumbing design drawings, specs, calculations and reports.
• Coordination & Collaboration: work with architects, structural, electrical and plumbing engineers for full integration.
• Energy Efficiency & Sustainability: apply high-performance HVAC strategies to reduce energy use.
• Building Performance Analysis: support thermal comfort, IAQ, ventilation effectiveness, acoustics and energy use assessments.
• Quality Assurance: conduct design reviews ensuring accuracy and compliance.
