Job summary

RINA in Genoa seeks a Senior Building HVAC Engineer to join the Civil Engineering Division. You will design HVAC systems within Building MEP, covering air distribution, hydronic networks, ventilation, and DHW, coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams.

You will lead OPR/BoD documentation, ensure code compliance, and advance energy-efficient solutions through high-performance HVAC strategies across projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building engineering.
• Strong capability in designing and developing HVAC systems within MEP frameworks, including air distribution, hydronic systems, ventilation, heating and cooling plants, and integration with BMS/controls.
• Proficiency in HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing/selection, and control philosophies to meet comfort, efficiency, and reliability targets.
• Familiarity with international and national HVAC standards and building regulations relevant to HVAC system design.
• Effective coordination of multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors; strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Design Development: develop HVAC systems within Building MEP frameworks, including ductwork and piping layouts and DHW sizing.
• System Sizing & Selection: perform load calculations and select HVAC equipment to meet target performance and efficiency.
• Technology & Innovation: stay updated on HVAC technologies, smart controls, and renewable integration.
• Technical Documentation: prepare HVAC and plumbing design drawings, specs, calculations, and reports.
• Coordination & Collaboration: work with architects, structural, electrical, and plumbing engineers for full integration.
• Energy Efficiency & Sustainability: apply high-performance HVAC strategies to reduce energy consumption.
• Building Performance Analysis: support assessments related to thermal comfort and energy use.
• Quality Assurance: conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with requirements.
