Job summary

Molex, a Koch company, seeks a Senior Automation Software Architect & Development Manager to lead the architecture and development for high-precision, high-mix/low-volume automation systems. You will mentor software and electrical designers, drive standardisation, and own the control-software scope from concept to commissioning.

The role requires deep IEC 61131-3 PLC/HMI knowledge, robotics and industrial communications, plus travel across Europe and globally. Starting from 70,000 EUR annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Software or Automation Engineering.
• 15–20 years in industrial automation with team leadership.
• Architectures and standardised software frameworks across multiple machine types.
• IEC 61131-3 PLC/HMI programming knowledge; robotics and industrial communications.
• Willingness to travel across Europe and globally.

Responsibilities

• Define, standardise and deploy scalable software architectures and best practices across automation projects.
• Lead, coach and support software developers and electrical designers.
• Own the control-software scope from concept through testing and commissioning.
• Design and program PLC, HMI, robot/cobot, vision, and motion-control solutions.
• Develop PC-based supervision and field-data retrieval interfaces to SQL and MES.
• Guide technical decisions, design reviews and validation.
• Promote reusable frameworks across machine types and sites.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance performance, robustness, cost and delivery timing.
