Location: Italy (Emilia-Romagna or neighboring regions) OR based in China; flexible remote working arrangements are available when not traveling.

Role: Senior Area Manager to spearhead commercial operations and drive business development across China, with a high-value product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of proven sales experience within the Chinese market, especially in heavy industrial sectors like metalworking, steel, or heavy automation.
• Advanced technical fluency regarding product applications; experience with similar complex machinery is advantageous.
• Tri-lingual proficiency: Italian, Chinese, and English is essential to navigate local subsidiary dynamics and HQ communications.
• Willingness to undertake extensive international travel to China, ~50% of the schedule.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and strong B2B negotiation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct complex B2B sales cycles and lead negotiations for high-value CAPEX machinery.
• Identify and secure new opportunities in heavy industrial sectors (steel, heavy automation, industrial machinery).
• Consolidate client portfolio and cultivate strategic partnerships to expand market share.
• Collaborate with the local Chinese subsidiary to align commercial strategy, technical assistance, and market representation.
• Oversee and develop the local distribution network, coordinating agents, importers and distributors, and participate in industry exhibitions.
• Interpret technical requirements and map machinery applications to concrete business outcomes.
• Analyze competitor dynamics and market intelligence to produce quarterly reports.
