OBR Open Building Research in Milano is seeking a Senior Architect – Design Manager with 10+ years of experience on large-scale international projects, including site supervision and technical design. The role requires strong leadership to coordinate the Design Team and external consultants.

You will liaise with clients and contractors, support strategic decisions with Partners, and ensure adherence to design intent using Revit/BIM and AutoCAD.

OBR is seeking a Senior Architect – Design Manager with at least 10 years of experience in large-scale international projects, including site supervision and technical design.

The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of OBR’s design approach and contribute to the firm’s ongoing architectural research and development.

The ideal candidate should have solid design skills, extensive technical knowledge, and a proven ability to manage projects and coordinate multidisciplinary Design Teams.

The successful candidate will coordinate the Design Team and external consultants, liaise directly with clients and contractors, and support strategic decision-making together with the Partners.

Advanced knowledge of Revit/BIM and AutoCAD is required.

Key responsibilities

• coordinate the Design Team;
• support strategic decision-making together with the Partners;
• direct, coordinate, and oversee the production of project design and construction documents;
• represent OBR in communications with clients, consultants, and contractors;
• review technical design drawings developed by the OBR Design Team;
review construction documents developed by contractors;
• verify compliance with technical specifications and applicable codes and regulations;
• prepare and circulate reports following on-site meetings with the Client, Contractor, and Construction Management team;
• provide technical supervision and recommendations to ensure that the works adhere to OBR’s design intent.
