Deltatre seeks a Principal Android Engineer to lead architectural direction for the AXIS and DIVA Android stack. This senior IC role combines deep Android expertise with cross-team influence, technical standards, and a focus on scalable, high-quality software.

You will partner with the Technical Director to modernize the Android platform, shape product roadmaps, and ensure robust performance across devices. Based in Italy, this role requires strong leadership without direct people management.

Competenze

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years at Principal/Lead/Architect level.
• Substantial production experience with Kotlin and modern Android development, with working command of Java.
• Deep architectural understanding of the Android platform—lifecycle, memory, threading, performance.
• Experience leading architecture on cloud-connected, high-availability consumer applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and how mobile apps interact with them.
• Technical leadership without people management: code quality governance and architectural decisions.

• Define long-term Android architectural direction and technology choices with the Technical Director.
• Own architectural integrity and scalability across Android platforms and products.
• Evaluate emerging Android technologies and adoption strategies aligned with product goals.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, mentoring, and best practices.
• Act as the Android technical authority across subsystems and teams.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Leads to align roadmaps.
