Job summary

BYD Europe seeks an experienced Finance & Accounting professional in Italy to own the general ledger, month-end closings and statutory reporting under Italian GAAP (OIC). You will collaborate with local management and corporate HQ to ensure timely, accurate financial information and strong internal controls in a multinational setting.

The role requires 5+ years of accounting experience, VAT knowledge, and fluent Italian and Chinese, with excellent Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; accounting diploma with experience accepted.
• Minimum 5 years in accounting, with GL, closing and statutory reporting exposure.
• Strong knowledge of Italian GAAP (OIC) and payroll-related accounting.
• Solid understanding of Italian VAT regulations and local tax requirements.
• Experience with monthly, quarterly and annual closing and reporting.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel) and ERP systems for structured reporting.
• Fluency in Italian and Chinese, plus good English.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, provisions and fixed assets.
• Ensure accuracy of accounts payable/receivable with reconciliations.
• Lead monthly payroll accounting entries including taxes and social security.
• Drive monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with Italian VAT and local tax regulations.
• Prepare and review reconciliations, schedules and financial reports.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
• Collaborate with Accounting Manager and cross-functional teams.
