ABB E‑mobility is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Operations Test Engineering team in Italy. You will design, develop, and industrialize a shared test automation platform powering EV charger validation, system integration, and manufacturing test environments.

The role emphasizes scalable software, CI/CD integration, test data management, and collaboration across software, firmware, validation, DevOps, and manufacturing teams to improve release confidence and

Competenze

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
Strong software engineering experience with Python, C#, Java, or TypeScript.
Proven experience designing, developing, or contributing to automated test frameworks for API, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Hands-on with Git-based development workflows, CI/CD, artifact management, and deployment of test software.
Experience testing REST APIs, device interfaces, cloud integrations, and end-to-end product workflows.
Understanding of EV charging systems, manufacturing/test environments, and traceability.
Fluent written and spoken English.

Mansioni

Design, develop, and maintain a scalable automated test framework for end-to-end validation and manufacturing testing.
Develop production-grade software for test orchestration, diagnostics, and reporting.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and release gates.
Create interfaces connecting chargers, embedded controllers, PLCs, and cloud services.
Create automated tests for APIs, firmware interfaces, and charging workflows.
Define and maintain structured test data, logs, and release-evidence packages.
Improve framework reliability, reduce flaky tests, and enhance observability.
Develop reusable libraries, templates, and utilities for cross-team contribution.
Support release governance with automated quality gates and documentation.
