Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer intern to solve real customer problems using modern technology. You will own the lifecycle of your code from design to deployment, collaborate with Amazonians across teams, and contribute to scalable, distributed services in an Agile environment.

Interns work full-time in the office, Monday–Friday, up to 40 hours per week, with mentorship and learning sessions. Successful interns may be considered for graduate roles or additional internships.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/CE or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OS, and complexity analysis.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose language (Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, TypeScript).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design, build, and operate innovative products and services.
• Break down complex problems into well-defined components before implementation.
• Contribute to scalable, reliable services with distributed-systems scope.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Create clear technical documentation.
• Use AI-assisted tools to enhance productivity and validate AI-generated code.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.
• Work in an agile CI/CD environment with on-call duties.
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring and troubleshooting production issues.
