Amazon Payments Europe S.C.A. is seeking a Compliance Specialist for DPS Operations to support the ongoing development and enhancement of the DPS program across jurisdictions where Amazon operates.

You will assist in daily reviews of escalated DPS cases and act as a subject matter expert on sanctions compliance. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to management, Legal, and business partners.

Denied Party Screening (DPS) Operations is seeking a dedicated, analytical candidate with a proven track record of performance to be part of the DPS Compliance Operations team.

Denied Party Screening (DPS) Operations is seeking a dedicated, analytical candidate with a proven track record of performance to be part of the DPS Compliance Operations team.

The Compliance Specialist will assist in the continued development, implementation and enhancement of the DPS program for all jurisdictions where Amazon and its subsidiaries operate. You will support the daily compliance review of escalated DPS cases for Amazon and its subsidiaries. The Compliance Specialist will serve as an SME regarding sanctions compliance and will work closely with management to ensure and track the effectiveness of the Compliance Operations program to comply with the various U.S. and international sanctions rules and regulations.

Key job responsibilities

• The Compliance Specialist position relies on excellent judgment to plan and accomplish operational goals, working under very limited supervision of a manager. Excellent individual problem-solving and analytical skills are used to review customers and complex transactions.
• All candidates will be analytical and capable of succeeding in a fast-paced team environment.
• Clearly and timely communicate findings, determinations and recommendations to Compliance Operations management, Compliance Advisory, Legal, and business partners, both at periodic intervals and as needed regarding escalated or high risk compliance issues.
• Identify regulatory compliance risks/concerns and make suggestions and/or take corrective actions to implement solutions to improve controls/operations.
• Guide management in the development/review of applicable policies, procedures and business practices.
• Engage in frequent written and verbal communication with management, operations support teams, Compliance and Legal teams, and business partners to accomplish goals.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring new hires.
• Meet key performance indicator requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in an industry role
• Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization
• Experience in relevant industries such as law, customer service, investigations or project management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in risk/fraud analysis or in compliance organizations
• Experience in AML or Compliance
• Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and OFAC regulations
• Experience engaging, verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner
• Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
