Job summary

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG is seeking a Safety Engineer for its Trieste expansion project to design a compliant automated terminal. You will drive machinery safety, implement CE conformity processes, and coordinate safety across engineering teams in a complex port automation setting.

The role requires 3+ years in machinery safety, an engineering degree, and strong collaboration with regulatory bodies. Fluency in English is essential; Italian or German are a plus as the project collaborates

Qualifications

• Experience in machinery safety and conformity design.
• Knowledge of functional safety principles and CE conformity processes.
• Experience in industrial, automated, logistics, manufacturing, intralogistics, port, or heavy infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Define a concept for machinery safety in a complex environment.
• Collaborate with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders to ensure compliant terminal infrastructure.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits for automated port operations.
• Coordinate safety topics between Logistica Giuliana and HHLA IT/Operations teams.
• Identify and mitigate challenges related to safety within projects.
