The American Academy in Rome invites applications for a Humanities Professor to join its intellectual leadership team in Rome. This distinct appointment guides Rome Prize Fellows, shapes the Academy’s intellectual vision, and oversees the Classical Summer School and archaeology initiatives.

Competenze

PhD in humanities with national/international standing and at least five years’ experience.
Fluency in spoken and written Italian is essential.

Mansioni

Provide scholarly leadership for Rome Prize Fellows across humanities disciplines.
Design, organize, and lead intellectual programming and site visits in Rome and beyond.
Serve as liaison to committees and the Board; oversee the Classical Summer School and archaeology initiatives.
Engage with Rome’s academic and cultural communities to broaden Fellows’ networks.
Support fundraising and represent the Academy in scholarly circles.
