ATG Europe is seeking a Mission Control System Engineer for our client in Rome, Italy. You will design the high level architecture of the Mission Control System, define interfaces, and collaborate with satellite specialists for TT&C integration.

You will lead MIB construction, perform integration and testing, and support real-time operations during critical mission phases. Strong engineering background and Italian/EU work eligibility are required.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in STEM disciplines.
• At least four years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of Mission Control System concepts, mechanism and functionalities.
• Telemetry reception and decoding, telecommand encoding and releases.
• Mission Information Base / Mission Database management.
• Connectivity with Ground Stations.
• Solid knowledge of TT&C principles.
• Experience with TM/TC protocols (CCSDS, ECSS) and Mission Control systems.
• Knowledge of ECSS and CCSDS standards.
• Programming experience in Python, C/C++, Java or Linux environments.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex systems.
• Excellent problem solving and teamwork skills.
• Good knowledge of technical English.
• EU eligibility to live and work.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Mansioni

• Design the high level architecture of the Mission Control System and define its main functionalities.
• Define MCS requirements and interfaces including Space to Ground and Ground to Ground interfaces.
• Collaborate with satellite specialists for TT&C integration.
• Assist with MIB construction, coordinating inputs from satellite manufacturers and MIB specialists.
• Conduct integration, validation, verification and testing to meet system requirements.
• Support real-time operations during critical mission phases (launch, LEOP, commissioning).
• Prepare system related documentation (Specifications, Design, Technical Notes, User Manuals, Test Procedures).
• Provide technical management of suppliers, including SoW and WPD, and review deliverables.
• Support operations to develop, validate and implement command and control procedures.
• Participate in technical meetings and drive continuous improvement and innovation in mission control.
