Job summary

ABB in Italy is seeking a technical sales support specialist to assist the assigned Sales organization during the proposal process. You will serve as a key technical resource, developing cost estimates and final documentation for ABB products and systems.

The role is hybrid, contributing to the Robotics Automation Division—Robotics Operations in Italy, with interactions across sales, proposal, and engineering teams and occasional customer visits.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in sales support, proposal engineering, application engineering or industrial automation.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or equivalent technical background.
• You are at ease communicating in Italian and English.
• Knowledge of ABB RobotStudio, Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools and costing methodologies.
• You are passionate about customer focus, negotiation, teamwork and problem solving.
• Availability for occasional customer visits and business travel.

Responsibilities

• Offering technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers/channels/Sales Specialists about ABB products/systems/applications.
• Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs and address complex inquiries.
• Developing and maintaining new sales opportunities and resolving specific customer problems; and ensuring achievement of targets on orders, Net Price Variance (NPV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
• Ensuring the achievement of budget goals, including volume targets and profitable growth, across all assigned product groups and in the respective countries.
• Main stakeholders are Sales Organization, Customers, Proposal & Engineering Team, Project Management, Product Management, Global Business Units and Factories.
