Job summary

PPG in Italy is seeking a motivated Junior Production Area Manager to support daily operations in our chemical manufacturing environment. You will help ensure safe, efficient production and collaborate with maintenance, quality, logistics and engineering teams.

The role emphasizes learning leadership skills, monitoring KPIs, applying continuous improvement methods, and contributing to Lean initiatives while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the management of the department, assisting in daily operations and production schedules.
• Monitor production activities and contribute to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
• Learn and apply OEM standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
• Support supervisors and operators in maintaining efficient workflows and resolving issues.
• Assist in monitoring KPIs (efficiency, scrap, cycle times) and participate in improvements.
• Participate in Lean manufacturing and problem-solving activities.
• Promote compliance with workplace safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with Logistics, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth production flows.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams on preventive and corrective interventions.
• Contribute to employee training and onboarding, ensuring SOP adherence.
• Prepare reports and communicate production updates to stakeholders.
• Develop leadership and people management skills through coaching and hands-on experience.
