CommerceClarity is seeking a Retail Engineer to own strategic accounts end to end, designing catalog workflows around AI agents and leading projects from discovery to production across Italy. You will build agent flows, measure KPIs, and drive improvements with customer outcomes in mind.

The role blends business and technology, requiring leadership, prompt engineering insight, and fluency in Italian and English. A hybrid Milan-based setup with remote weeks supports ambitious delivery.

Competenze

• Three or more years of experience in consulting or solution delivery.
• You sit between business and technology and can redesign a retailer's catalog workflow and build the agent flow.
• Prompt engineering sense: iterate with real data, measure output quality, know when to fix with a prompt vs code.
• Stand with enterprise customers and bring complex delivery home.
• You have managed projects and people and still want to build, not just coordinate.
• Fluent Italian and English.

• Lead agent implementations end to end for enterprise retailers, from kickoff to production, on our DIPE method: design, implement, prove, evolve.
• Own our most strategic accounts and the heaviest proofs of concept directly.

Retailers still run too much catalog work through spreadsheets and copy-paste: filling missing attributes, adapting products to each marketplace, and keeping thousands of SKUs accurate. CommerceClarity replaces that manual work with AI agents.

As a Retail Engineer, you stay with the customer from discovery through production. You redesign their catalog workflow around agents, build the flows yourself and improve them against the agreed KPIs, working with customers across Italy.

This is a high-ownership seat.

You own our most strategic accounts end to end and you set the delivery method the rest of the team runs on. We weigh attitude and the combination over years on paper: the sweet spot is three to six years, and the right builder energy beats seniority.

What you would do

What we are looking for

• Three or more years of experience, most of it in consulting or solution delivery. Many of our best fits are management engineers who read a business process and enjoy working with data.
• You sit between business and technology. You can redesign a retailer’s catalog workflow and build the agent flow yourself. Not a pure PM, not a pure data engineer.
• Prompt engineering sense. You iterate against real data, you measure output quality, and you know when to fix something with a prompt and when to fix it with code.
• Standing with enterprise customers, and a record of bringing complex delivery home.
• You have managed projects and people, and you still want to build rather than only coordinate.
• Customer-facing and high agency. You handle ambiguity, you lead the conversation with the retailer, and you do not wait for a perfect brief.
• Fluent Italian and English.

Preferred

• Hands-on with workflow builders such as n8n, and with AI-native coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
• Comfortable coding with AI assistance, in Python or TypeScript, to glue systems together and extend what an agent does.
• You have worked with a workflow orchestration engine.
• Deep retail workflow knowledge: catalog management, PIM, assortment, attribute governance, channel publishing, marketplace operations.
• The major PIM platforms, Akeneo, Salsify, inRiver, Pimcore, and the feed and channel managers.
• A background as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Implementation Lead or technical CSM at an enterprise software company.
• Retail data quality at scale: millions of SKUs, many languages, many marketplaces.
