Job summary

IIT’s Center for Advanced Biomaterials for Health Care (CABHC) in Naples seeks a Research fellow to advance 3D microphysiological systems and analyze cellular responses.

You will fabricate 3D in vitro models, culture cells, apply imaging and quantitative analysis, and collaborate in an international team using cutting-edge tools.

The position is a 12-month fellowship with a collaboration contract, offering opportunities to contribute to high-impact science and innovation.

Qualifications

• MSc in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biotechnology or related field.
• Documented experience with mammalian cell culture and advanced 3D in vitro models.
• Experience in microfabrication, microfluidics, biomaterials, or engineered cell culture platforms.
• Experience with fluorescence microscopy, immunofluorescence, and cell imaging.
• Familiarity with quantitative characterization of cell morphology and behavior under stimuli.
• Good command of spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication and optimization of 3D in vitro and microphysiological systems.
• Culture and characterization of cells within engineered systems under different conditions.
• Immunofluorescence and advanced cell imaging for morphological/functional characterization.
• Quantitative study of cell morphology, deformation, organization and phenotypic changes in response to stimuli.
