Brightsmith seeks a Project Development Manager to lead a portfolio of renewable energy projects in Italy, from opportunity assessment to Ready-to-Build. Based in Milan with a hybrid work model, you will oversee permitting, grid connections, land agreements and regulatory compliance.

You will drive budgets, schedules and risk management, coordinating internal teams and external consultants to ensure timely delivery across wind, solar and storage, while supporting investments and potential M&A

Qualifications

• Experience in Italian renewable energy project development, particularly wind and/or solar.
• Strong knowledge of Italian permitting procedures and renewable energy regulations.
• Experience managing grid connection processes and negotiating land agreements.
• Proven project management skills including budget, schedule and risk management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across different regions.
• Fluent Italian and professional working proficiency in English.

Responsabilités

• Identify and assess new opportunities across wind, solar, agrivoltaics and BESS, conducting technical and financial feasibility studies.
• Manage projects from initial development through to Ready-to-Build (RTB), overseeing land, grid connection and permitting activities.
• Coordinate technical, environmental and permitting documentation, managing relationships with authorities and stakeholders.
• Secure land agreements and grid connection solutions, working closely with internal teams.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, resources and risks, reporting progress to senior management.
• Coordinate external consultants, engineering partners and legal advisors to ensure timely project delivery.
• Support investment assessments, competitive tenders and potential M&A opportunities.
• Oversee project handover to the Construction team and support progress through to commissioning.
