Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior ML Engineer - Malware Detection for a remote role based in Italy. You will develop and deploy ML systems to detect web-based malware at scale across Linux hosting environments, using real malware data and production signals to improve detection and reduce false positives.

You will own the ML lifecycle from data to production, collaborating with analysts, infrastructure, and other ML engineers.

Qualifications

• Five years of production ML experience, with adversarial domain exposure.
• Experience with transformer models including LoRA/QLoRA or full fine-tuning.
• Strong understanding of gradient boosting and traditional ML methods.
• Design leakage-free splits by time and malware family.
• Ability to optimize CPU/memory usage for production inference.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and Hugging Face; SQL with ClickHouse is a plus.
• English writing skills for technical docs and asynchronous collaboration.
• Ownership from experimentation to production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, evaluation, and deployment of ML systems for scalable malware detection.
• Develop models for malware classification, triage, and signature generation.
• Create context-aware threat detection for phishing, webshells, and injections.
• Improve detection precision and cleanup effectiveness in production.
• Establish rigorous evaluation and regression testing before deployment.
• Optimize throughput, latency, and cost for large hosting fleets.
• Move models from experimentation to production with shadow testing.
