Descrizione del lavoro

The UNESCO consultant will support the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in strategic dissemination of public information, including press releases and media engagement for local and national outlets.

The role will be performed partly at ICTP premises in Trieste and partly from home, requiring fluent English and Italian, strong writing skills, and at least five years of experience in science communication.

The contract is up to 11 months and open to external candidates.

Competenze

Advanced university degree in Science, Communications, Public Information, Journalism or a related field.
At least five years of professional experience in public information and communications with focus on science dissemination.
In-depth knowledge of the Italian media, especially the science media, including close contacts with journalists, editors and radio/TV directors.
Fluent in English and Italian, with excellent writing skills in Italian.

Mansioni

Draft press releases in Italian and disseminate to local and national media.
Coordinate press conferences and major events and achievements at ICTP.
Build media partnerships and maximize visibility of ICTP research and education activities.
Work partly at ICTP premises and partly from home; ensure timely delivery and evaluation of communications.
