Job summary

Symbotic seeks a Principal Autonomous Test Systems Engineer to lead test automation across hardware-intense robotics platforms. Remote (US) with periodic onsite ITC work in Wilmington, MA, you will build dashboards, shape data schemas, and drive end-to-end testing frameworks.

You’ll mentor engineers, set roadmaps, and partner with reliability teams to model aging behavior, enabling scalable, high-quality test practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in test automation or data platforms for physical, robotic systems.
• Adopted platforms across multiple teams and measured adoption.
• Hands-on hardware with DAQ, sensors, test rigs, HIL, and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Build executive test dashboards used by leadership to view testing state.
• Design and own a versioned test data schema across teams and pipelines.
• Architect shared automation framework: orchestration, sequencing, results, CI/CD.
• Introduce physical test environments into automated end-to-end testing.
• Drive adoption with reference implementations, docs, and enablement.
• Provide clean, traceable data for reliability modeling of aging systems.
• Set roadmap, evaluate build vs. buy, mentor senior engineers leading a team.
