Job summary

Mirai is building the first AI‑driven autonomy platform for vessels under 100 ft and seeks a rapid integration and test robotic engineer. You will integrate hardware/software onto unmanned vehicles, prototype and validate end‑to‑end autonomy solutions, and work across lab, workshop and dock environments in Bari, Italy.

You will apply ROS2, ROS, Python and C++ to develop perception, planning and control modules, while leading hardware bring‑up and field demonstrations of multi-sensor stacks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• EU passport or unrestricted right to work in Italy; on-site in Bari.
• Hands-on robotics hardware, sensor integration and embedded systems.
• Experience with ROS2 and autopilot stacks (PX4/ArduPilot).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to perception, planning and control modules using ROS2, Isaac ROS, PyTorch and NVIDIA tools.
• Design, implement and test reinforcement-learning models and autonomy behaviours in simulation and real platforms.
• Lead design, construction and testing of UAS prototypes; integrate hardware sensors and control systems.
• Assemble and bring-up hardware prototypes; support sensor-fusion platform.
• Lead rapid prototyping and field testing; run feasibility studies and test plans.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems and software teams; document integration processes.
