Jobgether in Italy is seeking a Backend QA Engineer to own quality for a high-traffic, backend-focused platform. You will combine manual testing with automation to validate APIs, data, and event-driven services, ensuring releases are robust and defects are caught before production.

You will work with REST/gRPC APIs, SQL databases, message queues, and distributed backend services. Remote work with a global team is offered, with significant ownership of testing strategy.

Competenze

• 4+ years of professional manual testing experience, backend focus.
• Experience testing iGaming, fintech, payment gateways, banks, or other transaction‑intensive domains.
• Strong proficiency in writing intermediate SQL queries for data validation.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman) and test management platforms (TestRail, Zephyr).
• Ability to read Go code and write or extend automated tests in Go; willing to work with Go.
• Familiarity with Docker and running services locally.
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum and STLC.
• Experience with microservices architectures and backend systems is valuable.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Kubernetes, and observability tooling is a plus.
• Experience supporting UAT with business stakeholders is an advantage.
• Go and/or Playwright experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a fully remote environment.

Mansioni

• Analyze requirements to design comprehensive test cases, scenarios, and coverage strategies.
• Perform end-to-end testing of transaction lifecycles, including initiation, authorization, settlement, and reconciliation workflows.
• Proactively explore the platform to identify edge cases, unexpected behavior, risks, and gaps not covered by specifications.
• Validate data accuracy, integrity, and consistency using SQL queries against PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Test REST and gRPC APIs using Postman, grpcurl, or equivalents, validating requests, responses, errors, and edge cases.
• Verify event-driven workflows across message brokers Kafka, RabbitMQ, and NATS, including retries, failures, ordering, and duplicates.
• Write, maintain, and extend automated tests in Go, collaborating with developers for coverage.
• Log, prioritize, and manage defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps and logs.
• Execute regression testing after deployments and ensure quality releases.
• Contribute to improving QA processes and automation coverage across the platform.
