Job summary

Scalapay seeks a Junior Legal Counsel for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Milan. You will support the Legal Department on regulatory matters and complaints handling, including ABF proceedings, under supervision.

Responsibilities include drafting agreements, conducting research, advising stakeholders, and monitoring regulatory developments. A solid Italian law background and bilingual English/Italian skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Italian law degree required.
• Fluent Italian and English (C1-C2).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Admitted to the Italian Bar.
• Experience in a structured Law Firm or Company (payments/consumer credit) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer complaints, ABF proceedings, and draft responses under supervision.
• Provide regulatory and contractual legal support on payments and consumer laws.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Prepare internal memoranda, opinions, and practical recommendations.
• Conduct legal research and translate findings into actionable advice.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update processes and documents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify legal risks.
• Develop and maintain internal templates, policies, and knowledge resources.
