Coesia is seeking a forward-thinking AI/ML specialist to deliver 3–4 validated PoCs annually, with at least one PoC maturing toward a production roadmap. You will scan the landscape, prototype solutions, and collaborate with designers, data scientists, and IT to shape innovation roadmaps.

The role requires MSc in STEM fields, 3–5 years in AI/ML or related areas, and strong programming with modern ML frameworks. English proficiency (B2/C1) is essential.

• Experience in developing and validating AI-driven solutions, PoCs, MVPs, or production-ready applications.

About the Role

Context

The AI technology and related applications are evolving at an unprecedented pace. To stay ahead, we need to continuously monitor the technology landscape, identify the most promising developments for our business needs, and deliver prototypes, minimum viable products, or proofs of concept to test these technologies.Our business needs include enhancing the effectiveness of engineering processes and integrating AI technology into our products and services.

Position

The primary responsibility will be to deliver 3-4 validated PoCs per year, with at least one PoC graduating to a production roadmap, so Coesia stays ahead in applying AI to industrial engineering.

Daily Tasks

• Scout & evaluate: track research papers, benchmarks, OSS repos, webinars; curate a monthly “AI radar” for stakeholders
• Prototype & validate: design and code PoCs/MVPs; measure business impact
• Collaborate: work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, data scientists, marketing and IT to co-create technology workflows and innovation roadmaps
• MLOps & software engineering: containerise workloads, automate CI/CD, and instrument model monitoring
• Data wrangling: acquire, clean, and label data; fine-tune or distil large models; enforce data-privacy/security guidelines
• Document: write concise tech notes and documentation about discoveries
• Learn & share: attend one major conference per year and share learnings internally

What You Need to Be Successful

Must-have

• MSc in STEM disciplines
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML, software engineering or applied research roles
• Experience in developing and validating AI-driven solutions, PoCs, MVPs, or production-ready applications
• Programming skills and familiarity with modern AI/ML frameworks and development tools
• English (B2 spoken / C1 reading-writing)

Nice-to-have

• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, and LLM fine-tuning
• Exposure to cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Experience working in cross-functional innovation, R&D, or industrial engineering environments
• Knowledge of MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and model monitoring
• Open-source contributions

Our Offer

Compensation for this role includes a base salary starting from EUR 39,000 in line with experience. The actual offer may exceed this minimum based on the candidate's qualifications and fit for the role.

A range of additional benefits (e.g., insurances, etc.) is also available in accordance with Company policy.

The applicable collective agreement is the CCNL Metalmeccanico.
