Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Genova/Milan, Italy (with activities in Seville/Madrid, Spain) seeks a senior modeller for power electronics and grid integration.

You will lead development, integration, and validation of PCS models, collaborating with global teams to deliver robust simulation tools and validated models for automation controls. The role requires 5+ years in power systems modelling, strong Matlab/Simulink and DIgSILENT experience, and travel readiness (10–20%).

Qualifications

• Master degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with focus on Power System stability and Power Electronics.
• Minimum 5 years of modelling Power Systems and Power Electronics using state-of-the-art tools.
• Excellent knowledge of Power System, Power Electronics and Control system modelling tools.
• Experience with Grid Impact Studies is a plus.
• Knowledge of Python, PyTest and simulation automation is a plus.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel globally (10–20%).

Responsibilities

• Model and validate the PCS product portfolio models for development and integration.
• Define and implement the product modelling roadmap with R&D senior management.
• Deliver reduced grid impact studies for execution projects.
• Interact with Product Management, external consultants and global customers.
• Develop, test and validate simulation models; ensure documentation and quality checks.
