ABB è alla ricerca di un responsabile R&D con focus su gestione dati prodotto e documentazione tecnica. In un ambiente internazionale, gestirai strutture, BOM e documentazione, assicurando coerenza tra documentazione ingegneristica e sistemi ERP come SAP e Windchill.

Il ruolo richiede competenze avanzate in Excel e Power BI, familiarità con AI e automazione, e una buona padronanza di italiano e inglese. Sede a Vittuone (MI), modello di lavoro ibrido/onsite.

Competenze

• Conoscenza di CAD 2D/3D; Catia V5 e Creo 8.0 sono un plus.
• Buona conoscenza di SAP o ERP simili e Windchill/PLM.
• Comprensione di BoM, strutture prodotto e codificazione.
• Attitudine a documentazione tecnica e controllo documentale.
• Gestione cambi di engineering e workflow di rilascio prodotto.
• Interesse per soluzioni AI e automazione per migliorare qualità dati.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development.

The position plays a key role in maintaining product integrity, supporting engineering change activities, and contributing to the continuous improvement and digitalization of product data processes.

Success in this role requires precision, advanced data-handling capabilities, and a proactive approach to applying Excel, automation, Power BI, and AI to everyday processes.

The Work Model For The Role Is

This role is contributing to the Electrification/Smart Building/ Protection devices in Vittuone (Milan)

You will be part of the R&D People Protection, responsible for several electro-mechanical low voltage devices (socket, fuseholder, …) and for low voltage protection devices and components (RCCB, RCBO, MCB, AFDD, motor reclosing, …).

You will be part of Product Care unit, managing the maintenance and the improvement/optimization of products in production (mainly in our factory in Santa Palomba -Rome, but not only), inside a global and international environment.

You Will Be Mainly Accountable For

• Create, maintain, and manage product structures, Bills of Materials (BOMs), codifications, and related engineering data.
• Create, maintain, and update technical product documentation in accordance with internal standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the consistency, traceability, completeness, and quality of released documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support product launches, engineering changes, and product maintenance activities through timely documentation updates.
• Ensure alignment and consistency between engineering documentation and enterprise systems.
• Manage product information and documentation within SAP and Windchill.
• Support engineering change management workflows and product release processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve product data discrepancies and improve data quality.
• Contribute to the standardization and optimization of product data and documentation processes.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process simplification, digitalization, and automation, with particular focus on data quality, repetitive activities, and reporting.
• Actively evaluate and apply AI-enabled tools and automation solutions to technical documentation, product data management, data validation, and process improvement activities.
• Progressively assume ownership of assigned processes and become a key reference point for related activities.

Qualifications For The Role

• Knowledge of 2D/3D CAD Nice to have: cad software Catia V5 and Creo 8.0
• You are at ease communicating in Italian and English
• Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Windchill or equivalent PLM/PDM platforms.
• Understanding of Bills of Materials, product structures, codification, and product configuration principles.
• Familiarity with technical documentation processes and document control.
• Understanding of engineering change management processes.
• Practical interest in applying AI-based solutions and automation to improve data quality, accelerate documentation activities, reduce repetitive work, and strengthen process efficiency.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, data validation, structured datasets, and analytical reporting.
• Ability to create or maintain Excel macros and VBA-based automations is considered a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI for data modelling, dashboard creation, KPI monitoring, and visualization of product data and process performance.
• Ability to identify concrete use cases and responsibly apply AI tools to improve documentation quality, data analysis, information retrieval, workflow automation, and decision support.
• Strong data mindset, with the ability to work accurately across large and complex datasets and identify inconsistencies before release.

Compensation Package

Applicable CBA: Metalmeccanico

Minimum annual salary: € 39.000

Variable Pay: Eligible for Company Productivity Bonus
