Job summary

STMicroelectronics is seeking a Metal Process Engineer to advance metal processing technologies within Power Front-End Technology R&D in Italy. You will design experiments, perform DOE studies, analyze data, and relate processing to microstructure and properties in new materials.

Collaborating with senior researchers and cross-functional teams, you will conduct hands-on measurements, characterize materials, and contribute to technical reports and project reviews in a multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Must have master-level degree in a materials-related field.
• Strong foundation in physical metallurgy and materials science fundamentals.
• Experience with metal processing technologies and manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Support development and optimization of metal processing technologies
• Design and execute experiments, including DOE
• Collect, analyze and interpret experimental data
• Perform materials characterization and relate processing to microstructure & properties
• Assist root cause analysis of material/process issues
• Participate in R&D projects on new materials and manufacturing processes
• Review literature and contribute to technical reports and project reviews
• Collaborate with process engineers, product developers, manufacturing and quality teams
• Support prototype builds and technology demonstrations
• Participate in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives
