Perfetti Van Melle in Italy is seeking a Group R&D Jelly Candy Specialist to drive NPD projects and development for the Jelly & Extruded Candy team. You will support new manufacturing line design and process improvements from lab to pilot scale, with supervision from the Manager.

Responsibilities include supervising trials, coordinating with Process Technologist, PEC Center and group marketing for Pre-NPD, and traveling abroad up to 40% of time to support tests and start-ups.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Technology, Chemical Technology or other scientific education.
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with data analysis and statistics software is a plus.

Our European team is expanding and we are looking for a new GRDQ Jelly Candy Specialist!

Main Purpose of the role

For our Group R&D Jelly & Extruded Candy team, we are looking for a new colleague as Jelly Candy Specialist.

The new colleague will be responsible to drive NPD projects, technology platforms and technological support under the supervision of Manager with the aim to contribute to higher quality level and/or efficiency of the existing production processes and assist in start-up of new production processes to increase the global Perfetti Van Melle product portfolio.

What you will do

• Participate in new product and process development, in compliance with Group & Local strategies during the whole Stage & Gate process from lab till post launch
• Contributing to design new manufacturing line or upgrade/improve the existing in close cooperation with Process Technologist, Group Engineering and PEC (Process Excellence
• Center), starting with process flow chart drafting
• Understand characteristics and influence/interaction of the ingredients used in the specific candies to ensure stable product quality and efficiency of production process
• Supervise lab and Pilot trials
• Be actively present during Pre-NPD meetings with group marketing by upfront sharing of samples and all relevant product/process information
• Contribute in performing Competitor research following trends, CIT, Patents to define new projects with the aim to keep PvM product portfolio future ready
• Initiate ideas to reduce waste, increase quality and efficiency and monitor execution of existing processes
• Support manufacturing locations in new industrial line startup or production transfers
• Contribute to define technological solutions aimed to sustain the breakthrough innovation pipeline in accordance with company long term strategy

Our Perfect Candidate

• Degree in Food Technology, Chemical Technology or other scientific education
• At least 4 years of experience in FMCG (products and processes) as similar technologist function
• Know-how of raw materials and its functions
• Preferable Lean manufacturing (green belt)
• Mentoring the junior technologist
• Good project management skills (Plan & Time)
• Good communications skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize, monitor the progress by using PvM software
• Collaborate in cross functional projects with a variety of stakeholders
• Ability to think out of the box to solve process challenges (creativity)
• Ability to gather and analyse process and quality data with statistical software
• Travelling abroad for support / tests / start up on request (40% of work time is request)

The position offers a gross annual salary starting from 45,000€. Additional compensation and company benefits may also apply and will be discussed and defined during the selection process and on an individual basis.
