Job summary

Perfetti Van Melle is seeking a Jelly Candy Specialist to support the R&D Jelly & Extruded Candy team in Lainate. You will contribute to new product/process development from lab through post-launch, collaborating with engineering, marketing and production to ensure quality and efficiency across projects.

The role requires a degree in food/chemical technology and at least 4 years in FMCG, with strong data skills and the ability to travel for tests and startups.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Food Technology, Chemical Technology or equivalent scientific education.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams.
• Experience mentoring junior technologists is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and track progress.
• Willingness to travel for tests/startups as needed.

Responsibilities

• Participate in new product and process development from lab to post-launch.
• Design and upgrade manufacturing lines in collaboration with Process Technologists and Engineering.
• Understand ingredient functionalities to ensure product quality and process efficiency; supervise lab and Pilot trials.
• Support pre-NPD meetings with marketing and share product/process information upfront.
• Conduct competitor research to define future projects and portfolio alignment.
• Initiate ideas to reduce waste, improve quality, and monitor execution.
• Assist manufacturing locations in line startups or transfers.
• Contribute to technological solutions for long-term innovation.

Main Purpose of the role

For our Group R&D Jelly & Extruded Candy team, we are looking for a new colleague as Jelly Candy Specialist!

What you will do

• Participate in new product and process development, in compliance with Group & Localstrategies during the whole Stage & Gate process from lab till post launch
• Contributing to design new manufacturing line or upgrade/improve the existing in closecooperation with Process Technologist, Group Engineering and PEC (Process Excellence
  Center), starting with process flow chart drafting
• Understand characteristics and influence/interaction of the ingredients used in the specificcandies to ensure stable product quality and efficiency of production process
  Supervise lab and Pilot trials
• Be actively present during Pre-NPD meetings with group marketing by upfront sharing ofsamples and all relevant product/process information
• Contribute in performing Competitor research following trends, CIT, Patents to define newprojects with the aim to keep PvM product portfolio future ready
• Initiate ideas to reduce waste, increase quality and efficiency and monitor execution of existing processes
• Support manufacturing locations in new industrial line startup or production transfers
• Contribute to define technological solutions aimed to sustain the breakthrough innovationpipeline in accordance with company long term strategy

Our Perfect Candidate

• Degree in FoodTechnology, Chemical Technology or other scientific education
• At least 4 years of experience in FMCG (products and processes) as similar technologist function
• Know-how of raw materials and its functions
• Preferable Lean manufacturing (green belt)
• Mentoring the junior technologist
• Good communications skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize, monitor the progress by using PvMsoftware
• Collaborate in cross functional projects with a variety of stakeholders
• Ability to think out of the box to solve process challenges (creativity)
• Ability to gather and analyse process and quality data with statistical software
• Travelling abroad for support / tests / start up on request (40% of work time is request)
  

The position offers a gross annual salary starting from 45,000€. Additional compensation and company benefits may also apply and will be discussed and defined during the selection process and on an individual basis.
