Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Genova (Italy) and Seville (Spain) seeks an R&D HIL Specialist to verify and validate the PCS product portfolio and automation systems. You will model power electronics and digital controllers for grid-connected and island operation, supporting system integration and product delivery.

You will collaborate with Product Management and external consultants, travel globally 20–30%, and contribute to documentation, version control, and training across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Power Electronics/Control; PhD preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in control techniques for Power Conversion Systems.
• Experience with 3 Phase DC/AC topologies and DC/DC converters.
• Proficient with automatic control theory and techniques for power electronics.
• Proficient with PCS topologies operation, modelling and simulation including modulation techniques.
• Solid presentation skills and fluency in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Leverage extensive modeling knowledge to perform system integration simulations for grid-connected and island operation.
• Responsible for HiLV&V processes for PCS products integrated with customer-specific assets and requirements.
• Contribute to definition and implementation of system V&V planning and support application delivery.
• Collaborate with Product Management, external consultants, and internal customers globally.
• Generate documentation, perform version tracking, and ensure quality checks.
• Provide training and support to PCS colleagues, customers, and consultants.
