Four Seasons Venice is hiring a Purchasing Supervisor to support the Purchasing Manager in procurement, receiving, and inventory across the hotel. You will maintain supplier relationships, support cost-control initiatives, and ensure compliance with purchasing policies and quality standards to enable exceptional guest experiences.

The role requires a degree in relevant fields, fluency in English and Italian, and 2–3 years in Purchasing or related areas, with supervisory experience preferred.

Competenze

  • Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluency in English and Italian is required.
  • 2–3 years of progressive experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Hospitality Operations.

Mansioni

  • Supervise daily purchasing activities to ensure timely procurement.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers for quality and pricing.
  • Source and evaluate products via quotations and market research.
  • Support contract administration and documentation for purchasing.
  • Coordinate receiving and storeroom operations and ensure internal controls.
  • Verify goods meet quality standards and match PO and delivery docs.
  • Maintain inventory records and monitor stock levels.
  • Review slow‑moving/obsolete stock and propose actions.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Participate in month-end/quarterly/annual inventory counts.
  • Assist budgeting, forecasting, and purchasing analysis initiatives.
  • Conduct regular audits of purchasing and storage practices.

The historic hotel showcases majestic Venetian architecture dating back to the 14th century. Guests can also enjoy spectacular views of Venice’s landmarks from the rooftop Restaurant Terrazza Danieli.

About The Role

The Purchasing Supervisor supports the Purchasing Manager in overseeing the procurement, receiving, and inventory management activities across the hotel. This role ensures the timely acquisition of goods and services, maintains strong supplier relationships, supports cost control initiatives, and guarantees compliance with company purchasing policies and quality standards. The Purchasing Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring operational departments have the resources required to deliver exceptional guest experiences while maintaining financial efficiency.

What You Will Do
  • Supervise daily purchasing activities to ensure the timely procurement of goods and services required for hotel operations.
  • Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring consistent quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
  • Source and evaluate products through quotation analysis and market research to support cost‑effective purchasing decisions.
  • Support contract administration and ensure proper documentation and authorization for purchasing activities.
  • Coordinate and supervise receiving and storeroom operations to ensure compliance with established procedures and internal controls.
  • Verify that all goods received meet quality standards and correspond to purchase orders and delivery documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to ensure operational efficiency while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Review slow‑moving and obsolete stock and recommend corrective actions to management.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Participate in month-end, quarterly, and annual inventory counts and related reporting activities.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and purchasing analysis initiatives as required.
  • Conduct regular audits of purchasing, receiving, and storage practices to ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards.
  • Promote hygiene, safety, sustainability, and operational best practices within the department.
  • Supervise, train, and support purchasing, receiving, and stores team members, fostering a collaborative and service‑oriented environment.
  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Culinary, and operational departments to support business needs and special projects.
What You Bring
  • Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluency in English and Italian.
  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Hospitality Operations.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a hotel, luxury hospitality, or service‑driven environment preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of purchasing procedures, inventory management, and cost control practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with procurement and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
